Maintaining Ties with HSDM
With a legacy of more than 145 years of scholarly endeavor behind us, the Harvard School of Dental Medicine lives in the present and looks to the future, setting the standard for dental medicine, education, research, policy, practice, and public service.
Setting the standard and maintaining the excellence that is the hallmark of HSDM, however, come with an expensive price tag, and the School’s future lies with your participation. Our students—their future in and passion for dental medicine—are the direct beneficiaries of your support. Your gifts enable students to follow their own passions, to take a year off from their studies to devote themselves to public service work or research. Your gifts also fund basic science and translational research, including work aimed at reducing the morbidity and mortality of oral cancer and developing drugs to regenerate tissue and treat arthritis. Your support and commitment to make a gift to this greater good literally change the world, as our students spread out across the globe as educators, clinicians, researchers, and scientific entrepreneurs, advancing oral and systemic health. Your support is critical to our mission of “developing and fostering a community of global leaders.”
No other dental school has a more compelling mission or broader scope. Visionary thinkers, led by Nathan Cooley Keep in 1867—the year of the School’s founding—set the standard for dental education when they established the nation’s first dental school “to be connected with a classical university and coordinated to its medical school.” Now, more than 140 years later, you can keep this legacy alive. Join your classmates, other HSDM alumni, and dedicated friends of the School in creating possibilities for the future of the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
