GENERAL PRACTICE RESIDENCY IN DENTISTRY

Rotations - Brookside Community Health Center

The Brookside Community Health Center is a Brigham and Women’s Hospital affiliated neighborhood health center in Jamaica Plain, MA. This is a comprehensive dental care rotation in which residents treat adult and pediatric outpatients. The dental service is housed in a 10-chair facility that has over 11,000 visits per year. Specialists are available in endodontics, periodontics, and orthodontics. Besides advanced general dental care, residents also learn about the health care needs of an underserved population, the need for community based health care centers, and the administration and organization of community health centers.

Residents will:

  • Strengthen their comprehensive treatment planning skills.
  • Gain experience in the management of pediatric patients.
  • Have intensive experience in the four-handed delivery of dental care.
  • Advance their skills in endodontics, periodontics and prosthodontics.
