GENERAL PRACTICE RESIDENCY IN DENTISTRY

Program Overview

The Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard-Wide General Practice Residency is a one-year program structured to provide experience in all phases of ambulatory and inpatient dental care. To provide a broad educational experience, the training program combines the resources of three Harvard-affiliated institutions, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Brookside Community Health Center. In addition, residents have required rotations in oral and maxillofacial surgery, anesthesiology, and internal medicine. Lectures, literature reviews, and case presentations are scheduled throughout the year. Our goal is to create an environment for learning, which will enable each resident to develop, not only clinical dental skills, but also the intellectual skills needed to face the challenges of the future. Six residents are enrolled into the program each year. Upon successful completion of the program, residents will receive certificates from both the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
