The Geriatric Dentistry Fellowship in the Department of Oral Health Policy and Epidemiology, Harvard University , School of Dentistry consists of three major sections: the Didactic, Clinical and Research. For the Didactic training, the candidate will be able to choose any aging-related course s/he elects in the Harvard affiliated institutions including MIT, Main Campus in Cambridge and Longwood Medical area campus. The trainee will have opportunities to learn the basic knowledge of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, necessary for the clinical research. If s/he chooses, more advanced courses are offered in any public health/aging domain. The clinical section of the training involves rotation in the Harvard affiliated nursing home. More extensive ambulatory geriatric dental training is in the planning stage. The research segment is led by the five members of faculty who are prominent in their individual research field. For the trainee with appropriate topics, several medical faculty members are available to guide the research.
