The following resources are provided by the Department for the Harvard School of Dental Medicine students
Multi-headed microscope:
The Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology maintains a 5-headed microscope with video display for use in teaching histology and histopathology. This is mainly for the use of postdoctoral students, but others are welcome to use the instrument for group viewing of microscopic material. Dr. Sook-Bin Woo or Dr. Mark Lerman may be consulted on any questions of microscope availability.
Collection of biopsy slides:
Over 12,000 archival glass slides of biopsy material related to Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology are catalogued in the Department. Although these ordinarily are not loaned out, they are available to interested students for study on site. The slides are indexed on computers in the Department, and Dr. Sook-Bin Woo or Dr. Mark Lerman can be contacted regarding their use.
Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Consultation:
Dr. Sook-Bin Woo or Dr. Mark Lerman are available for formal or informal consultation with Harvard School of Dental Medicine students or affiliated research groups on matters of histopathology, specimen handling and microscopic interpretation

The biopsy service for the Harvard School of Dental Medicine is based at Pathology Services Inc. in Cambridge, MA. This is a full-service laboratory that performs routine processing of tissue and on-site direct and indirect immunofluorescence and immunoperoxidase studies daily. All supplies are complementary. Department Film Library:
A collection of radiographs are catalogued by case diagnosis. Students may use this library by prior appointment with Dr. Bernard Friedland.
