Clinical / Academic / Research interests

Dr. Weber’s primary research interest and expertise is in translational and clinical research in implant dentistry and related areas. He has conducted or participated in a number of clinical trials with various designs over the years. Several have been studies to evaluate the safety and efficacy of one-stage (transmucosal) implants and the related one-stage surgical protocol in various clinical indications. A randomized controlled clinical multicenter trial on the outcome of implants placed immediately in extraction sockets is just now being completed. Two new controlled prospective trials will investigate esthetic outcomes with implants of different neck colors and the performance of ceramic versus titanium abutments functionally, biologically and esthetically.
