Biographical Sketch

Dr. Hwang is currently an instructor of Department of Restorative Dentistry and Material Sciences at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He received his D.D.S. in 1991and M.S.D in 1995 from Seoul National University as he completed his prothodontic training at the same school. He served as a captain in Air Force from 1995 till 1998 providing dental service. In 2003, he received DMSc from Advanced Prothodontic program at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He has been appointed as full-time instructor since 2004 after one year of part-time faculty position. Currently he participates in teaching pre-doctoral students prosthodontics and work in Harvard Faculty Group practice. He also does clinical research related to implant dentistry. He is currently a member of American College of Prosthodontists and Academy of Osseointegration.

Dr. Hwang is currently interested in clinical research of implant dentistry, dental materials, and prosthodontics and basic science research related to cell/tissue-mechanics
