Mark A. Lerman, DMD

Instructor in Oral Pathology

Dr. Lerman received his BA and his DMD from Tufts University and was awarded a certificate for completion of the Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard-Wide General Practice Residency. He completed his oral pathology residency at New York Hospital Queens and is a fellow of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology.

Dr. Lerman directs the Advance Oral Medicine, Pathology, and Radiology course for post-graduate students and co-directs the Oral Pathology and Pathophysiology course for undergraduate students at HSDM. He instructs oral and maxillofacial pathology post-graduates in surgical oral pathology and teaches dental residents as well as medical and dental students. He also holds an appointment at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where he is an attending in the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral Medicine and Dentistry.

Clinical / Academic / Research interests

Dr. Lerman’s interests include oral mucosal diseases and complications of cancer therapies including bisphosphonate-associated osteonecrosis of the jaws.
