#  Disability Services 

 



The Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM) is committed to providing an accessible and supportive learning environment for all students. The Office of Disability Services offers a range of accommodations and services for medical, dental, and master’s students at both Harvard Medical School (HMS) and HSDM. The office works with students, faculty, staff, and administrators to ensure equitable access in areas such as:

- Testing accommodations
- Classroom accommodations
- Externship and hospital rotation accommodations
- Assistive technology
- Housing accommodations
- Food allergies/dietary restrictions
- General campus and program accessibility
- Consultations and referrals for disability evaluations and support services

For students seeking accommodations on national and regional board exams, it's important to understand that each board has its own procedures and guidelines. While the Office of Disability Services provides guidance and support, students are responsible for ensuring they meet all board requirements for accommodations.

The Office of Disability Services takes student privacy seriously. Information about functional limitations and accommodations is shared internally only on a need-to-know basis. Medical documentation and related materials are kept confidential and shared with third parties only in compliance with state and federal laws.



 

 

 

### Requesting Accommodations 

 

Students are expected to take an active role in managing their accommodations. This includes seeking assistance, complying with deadlines, and maintaining communication with the Director of Disability Services in a timely manner.
