# Do you offer an Advanced Standing program for internationally trained dentists?

The [DMD-Advanced Standing Program](/advanced-standing-international-dentists-dmd-track "Advanced Standing for International Dentists DMD Track") at Harvard School of Dental Medicine is designed for international students with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree from outside the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., as well as licensed physicians from these countries who wish to specialize in dentistry. Accepted students join the second year of the DMD program in October, complete the same coursework and clinical training as four-year DMD students, and graduate with a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree. Typically, 2–3 students are admitted each year based on available space. For application details, email [hsdm\_advanced\_standing@hsdm.harvard.edu](mailto:hsdm_advanced_standing@hsdm.harvard.edu).

Internationally trained dentists who seek a post-doctoral degree and do not plan to practice dentistry in the United States are eligible to apply to our [A](https://hsdm.harvard.edu/advanced-graduate-education-programs)[dvanced Graduate Education (AGE) Programs. ](/advanced-graduate-education-programs "Advanced Graduate Education")
