#  Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Residency 

 



The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program is **a six-year, fully accredited residency o**ffered by the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Dentistry at **Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH)** in affiliation with **Harvard School of Dental Medicine**. This integrated clinical and didactic curriculum prepares residents for certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Residents complete the requirements for the **Doctor of Medicine (MD)** degree at **Harvard Medical School** and participate in a total of **16 months of general surgery training** as part of their clinical education.

## Program features

- Six-year residency leading to **American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery** eligibility.
- Completion of the **MD degree at Harvard Medical School**.
- Integrated clinical and didactic training at MGH, including **general surgery experience**.
- Affiliation with **Harvard School of Dental Medicine**.

## Clinical and educational experience

Residents engage in progressive surgical training and comprehensive oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMFS) clinical care, under the mentorship of experienced faculty.
