Dr. Joud Y. Omari is a lecturer and discipline director in the Department of Oral Medicine, Infection, and Immunity. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Jordan and completed postgraduate training at Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM), receiving a certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and a Doctor of Medical Sciences (DMSc) degree in Oral Biology. During her training, she served as co-chief resident of the Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology program.

Omari is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and a fellow of both the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology (AAOMP) and the American Academy of Oral Medicine (AAOM). She has received numerous honors, including the Waldron Award from the AAOMP, the HSDM DMSc Basic/Translational Research Award, and the AAOM Trainee Case Report Award.

Her academic and research interests include oral carcinogenesis, vascular biology, immunology, and the clinicopathological characterization of mucosal and jawbone diseases. Omari conducted translational research within the Vascular Biology Program at Boston Children’s Hospital and continues to publish scholarly work while mentoring dental students and residents.
