Dr. Mohamed Maksoud is a lecturer on oral medicine, infection, and immunity at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He was selected by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Exchanges, for the [Fulbright Specialist Program](https://fulbrightspecialist.worldlearning.org/), making him the first dentist to receive this honor. The Fulbright Specialist Program allows U.S. academics and professionals to engage in project-based exchanges at host institutions worldwide.

Maksoud is a longtime dental educator with teaching experience at HSDM, Tufts University, and the University of Florida. He has also served as a visiting professor at three international dental schools. His work focuses on dental curriculum review and advancement, faculty training in competency assessment, and the introduction of student research programs.
