Dr. Klevens was the Director of Research and Evaluation at the Bureau of Infectious Disease and Laboratory Sciences at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health from 2015-2023. She graduated from SUNY Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 1988, completed a residency in Dental Public Health at Harvard in 1991, and became a Diplomate in Dental Public Health in 1995. Her career in infectious diseases epidemiology started in the CDC’s Epidemic Intelligence Service program and included immunization, HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, and healthcare- associated infections. She has published and lectured in the US and abroad, is a member of the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America and a fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America.
