### What to expect

- Affordable care
- Longer visits and more appointments
- Care supervised by expert faculty
- Students are not available every day, so scheduling may take longer

### Your first visit starts with a screening

Every new patient begins with a required **oral diagnosis (OD) screening**. This 15-minute visit includes a brief exam and medical history review. **No treatment or cleaning is done at this first visit.** The screening helps us determine if the Teaching Practice is the right fit for your care.

## What patients ask us

### What happens at the intake visit? expand\_more

Your student or resident provider will do a full exam and review your medical history. A faculty member will guide each step. Cleanings and treatment are scheduled for future visits.

### What services do student dentists provide? expand\_more

Cleanings, exams, fillings, crowns, and more—for patients without complex medical issues.

### Will treatment take longer? expand\_more

Yes. Because our students are in training, visits may take more time and require follow-up appointments.

### Do I need a screening if I already have a referral? expand\_more

Yes. All new patients must complete a screening to make sure the Teaching Practice is right for their needs.
