DESCRIPTION:<p>Join us to explore how you, as a provider, can offer compassionate, patient-centered care that minimizes harm and prevents the unintentional reinforcement of negative patient experiences.</p><p>This first session <span>will feature trauma-informed care frameworks in dentistry.&nbsp;</span></p><p>Sessions will cover topics including:&nbsp;</p><ul><li>The eight trauma-informed care (TIC) principles</li><li>The neurobiology of trauma to identify gaps that may increase trauma reactivity in patients who have experienced interpersonal violence</li><li>Ways to Implement&nbsp;TIC principles into your current patient care&nbsp;</li><li>Hear from a panel of faculty and clinicians and how they incorporate trauma-informed care into their practice</li></ul><p><a href="https://www.hsdm.harvard.edu/event/lunch-learn-trauma-informed-dental-care-2">Session 2 will take place on March 26, 2025.</a></p><hr><p><em><strong>HSDM designates this activity for 1 ADA CERP continuing education credit per session.</strong></em></p><p><em>This series is a collaborative initiative sponsored by the Office of Dental Education, the Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion &amp; Belonging, and the SHARE team within the Office for Gender Equity.</em></p>
