Program overview
The Harvard School of Dental Medicine’s Endodontics Preceptorship is a full-time summer program designed for dentists seeking to strengthen their understanding of endodontics at the graduate level. Participants engage in didactic and clinical learning alongside AGE students, with opportunities to observe patient care and research at the Harvard Dental Center.
Program requirements and details
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- DDS, DMD, BDS, or equivalent dental degree from an accredited dental school
- English language proficiency
- Citizenship, permanent residency, or visa status that allows travel to the United States for the duration of the program
(Visas are not provided by the program.)
Applicants must submit the following materials*:
- Completed application form
- Curriculum vitae (CV)
- Academic transcripts
- One letter of recommendation
- One-page statement of interest
- TOEFL or IELTS scores, if applicable
- $150 non-refundable application fee
- Participation in an interview with program faculty (virtual or in person)

All application materials must be submitted in English.
Tuition for the Endodontics Preceptorship Program is $15,000.
- Full tuition payment is due 30 days prior to the start of the program
- Housing, travel, meals, and personal expenses are the responsibility of the participant
- No refunds are provided for cancellations after the program has started
Participants who successfully complete the program will receive a Certificate of Completion issued by the Continuing Education Department of the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
This certificate:
- Is not equivalent to a postgraduate specialty certificate
- Does not represent specialty training recognized by the American Dental Association
- Does not qualify participants for specialty recognition in the United States
This preceptorship program is not accredited by any national or local accreditation body.
Accepted participants must submit immunization records at least two months before the start of the program and receive clearance from Occupational Health.
Participants must also complete required institutional training before engaging in observation activities, including:
- HIPAA training
- OSHA training
- Infection Control training
- Additional training as required by the program

Clinical observations
Participants observe a variety of clinical cases managed by Harvard Dental School faculty and residents. This includes exposure to both non-surgical and surgical endodontic procedures. Additionally, participants observe ongoing clinical research at the Harvard Dental Center, enhancing their understanding of evidence-based practices.
