About the speaker
Bruno Loos is professor emeritus of periodontology at the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA), where he formerly served as chair of the Department of Periodontology and, from 2019 to 2022, as director of research and vice dean. He currently leads the EFP-accredited postgraduate program in periodontology and implant dentistry. Loos’s research focuses on the immunobiology of periodontal and peri-implant diseases and the link between oral and systemic health—also known as periodontal medicine. In 2021, he received the International Association for Dental Research Distinguished Scientist Award for Research in Periodontal Disease. He is an honorary member of the Dutch Society of Periodontology.
