Ali Alaqla

Lecturer on Restorative Dentistry and Biomaterials Sciences

Dr. Ali Alaqla is a endodontist, academician, and researcher with expertise in endodontics, oral biology, immunology, and medical education. He serves as chair of the Department of Restorative and Prosthetic Dental Sciences and assistant professor in endodontics at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He holds multiple leadership and committee roles within the university and its College of Dentistry.

He earned his Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in endodontics and Master of Science in dental sciences from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, followed by a Doctor of Medical Sciences (DMSc) in oral biology from Harvard University. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics and a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.

Alaqla is actively involved in research and academic publishing. He serves as a scientific board member and reviewer for the Journal of Endodontics and is an associate member of Sigma Xi, the scientific research honor society.

His research background includes a postdoctoral fellowship at the ADA Forsyth Institute’s Department of Inflammation and Immunology. He also served as an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He has contributed extensively to curriculum design, student assessment, and academic quality assurance, and has received multiple national and international honors for excellence in scientific presentation and academic leadership.
