Dr. Balazs Feher

Assistant Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Dr. Balazs Feher is an Assistant Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. His clinical work focuses on dentoalveolar surgery and the perioperative supervision of surgical trainees. His research explores the application of data science and artificial intelligence in diagnostic, prognostic, and generative modeling in dental medicine, as well as preclinical studies in oral tissue regeneration.

Feher contributes to the ITU/WHO/WIPO Global Initiative on Artificial Intelligence for Health (Topic Group Dentistry) and previously served with its predecessor, the ITU/WHO Focus Group on Artificial Intelligence for Health. He is also a member and chair-designate of the European Association for Osseointegration’s Junior Committee.

Feher earned his DMD and PhD from the Medical University of Vienna, where he trained as a postgraduate assistant in oral surgery and later habilitated, earning the venia docendi in dental medicine. He joined Harvard as an Osteology Research Scholar and completed a postdoctoral fellowship under Dean William V. Giannobile and Dr. Magda Feres before joining the Faculty of Medicine.
