Dr. Daniel Choi

Dr. Daniel D. Choi is a fellowship-trained oral and maxillofacial surgeon specializing in dentofacial deformities and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. He earned his undergraduate degree and Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from New York University before completing medical school and residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He subsequently completed a fellowship in temporomandibular joint surgery, salivary gland surgery, minimally invasive trauma, and orthognathic surgery at Baptist Hospital of Miami.

Prior to joining Harvard School of Dental Medicine, Choi served as an assistant professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital/Sidney Kimmel Medical College and as chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Jefferson Health Northeast in Philadelphia.

Choi serves as assistant director of the TMJ and Minimally Invasive Endoscopic Fellowship Program at Mass General. His clinical expertise includes microsurgical repair of trigeminal nerve injuries, orthognathic surgery, and TMJ surgery. His research focuses on resident simulation training, trigeminal nerve injuries, and temporomandibular joint disorders.

Choi is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is also an active member of the American Academy of Craniomaxillofacial Surgeons and the American Society of TMJ Surgeons.
