Dr. Sang J. Lee
Dr. Sang Lee is a full-time faculty member in prosthodontics at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM). He received his BS from Bucknell University and his DMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He completed advanced graduate training at HSDM, earning a Master of Medical Sciences (MMSc) in oral biology, a certificate in prosthodontics, and a certificate in implant dentistry.
Lee previously served as assistant dean for clinical affairs and medical director of the Harvard Dental Center (HDC) practices, where he led student- and patient-related clinical activities in the HDC Teaching Practice and oversaw daily clinical operations to ensure high standards of care and quality assurance. Prior to this role, he served as director of Advanced Graduate Education (AGE) at HSDM, overseeing 14 advanced graduate training programs and chairing the Committee on Advanced Graduate Education (CAGE). He also served as director of the AGE Prosthodontics Program.
Lee is a diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a fellow of several professional organizations, including the American College of Prosthodontists, the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics, and the Academy of Prosthodontics. He has also served as a site visitor for the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
He is actively engaged in clinical and translational research focused on digital dentistry, artificial intelligence, and implant rehabilitation. His work includes digital impressions, computer-guided implant surgery, optical mandibular tracking, digital occlusion analysis, and clinical studies related to occlusion and implant prosthodontics. His research emphasizes the integration and application of digital technologies and artificial intelligence across the continuum of care, from diagnosis and treatment planning to implant placement and definitive prosthetic restoration.
