Dr. Wahn Khang

Dr. Wahn Khang is a periodontist who received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree with honors from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1996. Following an externship as a dental resident at Otis Coast Guard Air Base in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, he completed a postgraduate certificate in periodontology at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, where he served as chief resident and received the Outstanding Resident Award.

During his residency, Khang completed a fellowship in anesthesiology at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Baltimore. He became a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and Implant Surgery upon completion of his training and has practiced as a periodontist and implant surgeon at the Perio Implant Center since 1998.

Khang has had an extensive career in teaching and research in periodontics and implant dentistry, having instructed more than 1,000 residents and dentists-in-training. He is a professor in the Department of Periodontics at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and a part-time faculty member at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He also serves as director of the Advanced Implant Course (AIC) Education Program, where he has taught for more than 20 years, delivering basic and advanced surgical courses as well as live surgery courses emphasizing hands-on clinical training.

Throughout his career, Khang has remained actively engaged in clinical practice, education, and research in periodontal and implant dentistry. He has lectured nationally and internationally and has published research related to periodontal therapy and dental implant procedures.
