Periodontal Care
Specialized care for your gums and dental implants
Healthy gums and supporting bone help protect your teeth. Whether you need treatment for gum disease, are considering a dental implant, or have a concern about an existing implant, our team will evaluate your needs and recommend a treatment plan.
| Procedure | Description |
|---|---|
Nonsurgical periodontal care | Treatments such as scaling and root planing, medications, and bite adjustments can help manage periodontal conditions. |
Surgical periodontal care | Procedures may include pocket reduction, gum grafting, crown lengthening, and treatment to rebuild bone or soft tissue. |
Dental implants | Our periodontists can prepare for and place one or more implants, including bone or sinus augmentation when needed. |
Care for existing implants | We diagnose and treat problems affecting the gums and tissues around dental implants. |
Dental implants
Dental implants can replace one missing tooth, several teeth, or a full arch of teeth. They can support crowns and bridges or help secure dentures. Our periodontists focus on the gums and jawbone that support implants. They evaluate whether grafting is needed, place implants, and work with restorative dentists who create the replacement teeth.
Periodontal implant services include:
- Placement of single or multiple dental implants
- Bone and soft tissue grafting, when needed
- Treatment of gum and bone problems around existing implants
Your care team will explain the recommended treatment, timeline, and cost after evaluating your needs. Treatment varies by patient, and not everyone needs a graft.
